Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I've been searching for this technique for years (being a reasonably clever Excel hack but hardly an MVP). I just knew there had to be a better way than the xlUp from the bottom, which requires knowing the longest column or testing all of them in the known column-range.
Very much appreciated!

Howdy,
Great web site. I really appreciate the clear and logical way you explain how functions, formula’s etc are processing their logical steps. I wish Microsoft help was as clear and effective as yours.
...
Have you written any books? There are lots of great ideas out there on the net. Sample formula's, user defined functions etc. the issue with most of them is they are difficult to decipher for the layman. You do a great job of that. You may consider writing a book or even hunting for the great techniques, then posting them on your site with your clear and plain way of explaining what is going on.

Neat interface. I have gotten a book about making stuff with Microsoft Agent and had hoped to go into business.
Your interface is the most developed I have seen (you use the correct gestures in the correct contexts, etc.) Not that I am an expert or anything!

P.S. Could you e-mail me if you update it? I would like that! Thanks!

I use several named ranges in a workbook that I use for scheduling at work. These ranges change constantly due to new orders being added and old orders being closed. This required me to be diligent and continually make certain that the ranges were correct. If others made changes to the sheets, they would invariably become invalid. I have made every named range a dynamically named range now which will save me hours of work.
I have additionally put the last cell code to work in my modules with great success.
Great site with excellent code samples. Thank you for sharing!

Thanks for creating a site that allows someone who knows their way around a spreadsheet to learn something new.
I am 16, and there's not much that people can stump me on.
I have recently finished computing a stock market watch heavily using the IF, CHOOSE, and COUNTIF commands, and it would have made my formula checkng a lot faster had I have known about the ctrl + ` command.

forget where they are. Printing the path in the footer is the perfect
solution ...
